At 1000 Hz (wired), the mouse reports its position every 1 millisecond — the industry standard for gaming peripherals. This is fast enough that polling rate is not a bottleneck even in professional esports. The difference between 1000 Hz and higher polling rates is debated, but 1000 Hz is universally considered adequate for all skill levels.

PixArt sensors are the industry standard for gaming mice — used by most major brands. The PixArt PAW3212 provides reliable, consistent tracking with no built-in angle snapping or acceleration unless enabled in software. For competitive FPS at standard settings (400–1600 DPI), it performs excellently.

At 1000 Hz (wired) polling, the wireless latency of this mouse is effectively indistinguishable from a wired connection in real-world gameplay. Modern 2.4 GHz wireless gaming mice use dedicated dongles on low-interference USB channels and achieve round-trip latencies under 1–2ms — well within human perception thresholds. Professional players use wireless mice in tournaments regularly. The only scenarios where wired has a concrete advantage: environments with heavy 2.4 GHz interference (crowded Wi-Fi, poorly shielded USB hubs nearby), or if you simply never want to think about charging.

Despite the high DPI ceiling of 800–4000 DPI, most serious gamers use 400–1600 DPI. The "right" DPI depends on your mousepad size, monitor resolution, and game sensitivity settings. A useful starting point: aim for an in-game effective sensitivity that requires your full arm to move the mouse ~30–40cm for a 180° turn. This gives you precision for micro-adjustments while still allowing full rotations. Start at 800 DPI and adjust from there. High DPI (3200+) is useful mainly for very small mousepads or navigating large multi-monitor setups outside of games.
